If you’ve been paying attention to my Mod Blog, you’ll see that I’ve been having some frustrating computer issues. Well, we’ve basically narrowed it down to yet another faulty hard drive, third one this year. So, I need to replace it.
I’m looking at buying one of those new fan-dangled SSD hard drives, but as you may or may not know, they’re rather expensive. At the rate it’s going, I probably won’t be able to afford one (or a HDD for that matter), for another two weeks or so, so progress on the comic, and any other projects Im working on, is going to be inactive until I can get a new drive.
Unfortunately, this pretty much guarantee’s that the Christmas project will not be done in time (not that it was looking good in the first place), and art in general will have to come to a stop, seeing as A) None of my Adobe software is able to load, and all attempts of uninstalling and re-installing have ended up in Blue Screens, and B) I’m pretty sure my new tablet’s drivers are in the affected area, making it a much higher risk for BSOD’s and the like.
I am able to use Windows at the moment, and watching movies/tv shows and browsing the internet seem to be fine, so that’s a plus, but its currently at a stage where I’m walking a fine line of “if I do x, then it’s possible I can blue screen and not be able to access Windows for another hour or two”. So I’m thankful I’ve got at least basic functionality for the moment, but as we all know with hardware stuff, it’s only a matter of time before it all blows up.
Also fear not, all of my art and important files are on a daily backup to multiple locations, I learned my lesson from the last two drive failures, so the files themselves are untouched.
Well, that’s about all I have to say on the matter. So thanks for reading, and I hope to update as soon as possible.
